PREPARATION
Maintenant Interiors will undertake to perform the following painting and repair services.

Drywall-Interior
Drywall must be clean and dry. All nail heads must be set and spackled.
Joints must be taped and covered with a joint compound.
Spackled nail heads and tape joints must be sanded smooth and all dust removed prior to painting.

Wood-Interior
All finishing lumber must be stored in dry, warm rooms to prevent absorption of moisture,
shrinkage, and roughening of the wood.
All surfaces must be sanded smooth, with the grain, never across it.
Surface blemishes must be corrected and the area cleaned of dust before coating.
Cleaning-Metal work
Solvent cleaning is a method for removing all visible oil, grease, soil, drawing and cutting
compounds, and other soluble contaminants. Solvent cleaning does not remove rust or mill scale.
Fungal alternatives using vinegar, borax, baking soda, lemon, salt, art-gum erasers,
For exterior metal surfaces such as steel, aluminum, wrought iron railings,
superior rust conditions require power cleaning

Scratches, cracks, holes, indentations, gouges, and
similar defects in surfaces shall be properly cut
out and filled with spackling compound, patching
plaster and other patching material as may be
required, and brought to a smooth, flush surface
 
Sandpaper woodwork to be painted or finished to
remove all roughness, loose edges, slivers, or
splinters, and then brush to remove dust, grease or
dirt and wash off with suitable cleaner.
For knots and sap marks apply thin coats of knot sealer
and then sand lightly when dry.
Fill cracks, nail holes and surface defects in
woodwork with putty or plastic wood after the
primer coat. Bring putty or plastic wood filler up flush with surface
 
Wash metal surfaces with solvent to remove dirt or
grease before applying materials.
Where rust or scale is present, remove by power
tools before painting.
Galvanized metal to be painted shall be thoroughly
washed down with acetic acid (vinegar) or other
approved solution, then thoroughly washed with
clear water. Metal shall be dry before paint is
applied. Fill dents, cracks, hollow places, open joints and
other irregularities in metal work to be painted,
with an approved metal filler suitable for the
purpose, and after setting, sand to a smooth, hard
surface and spot prime.
Apply to pipe and duct coverings heavy coat of glue
size before other paint applications,
Add glue to size, and to each coat of paint applied
thereafter, a sufficient amount of a fungicidal
agent to render the fabric mildew-proof.
 
Apply paint evenly and smoothly by brush or roller free
of runs, drips, sags, crawling, brush marks and clogging
of angles. Do not apply successive coats until the
preceding coats are thoroughly dry and hard.
Each coat shall be dry before succeeding coats are applied
Painted surfaces shall receive at least one
priming coat and two finishing coats.
 
Apply paint evenly and smoothly by brush or roller free
of runs, drips, sags, crawling, brush marks and clogging
of angles. Do not apply successive coats until the
preceding coats are thoroughly dry and hard.
First primer-sealer coat or undercoat for that particular
surface, except when metal primers are used as specified
under other sections of the specifications.
Undercoats on metal shall be thoroughly
and uniformly sand-papered to provide a smooth, even finish.

Deliver materials in the original containers with seals
unbroken, bearing the manufacturer's label specifying
trade name, brand and quality.
The storage space shall be kept clean and accessible at
all times. Paint or oil soaked rags, waste, overalls,
and the like shall be removed from the premises at the
close of each day's work. Every precaution shall be
taken to avoid damage by fire.
Storage and protection of materials shall conform
to all regulations, codes and ordinances having
jurisdiction.
Clean room spaces and surfaces so they are dust-
free before painting is started. Remove grease and
other extraneous matter which would affect the finished work.

LABOR:
Apply painting materials using skilled mechanics well
versed in the several branches of the work. Perform each
painting operation in accordance with the best practices
which are consistent with the surfaces being finished and
the type of materials being applied. Two or three men plus one helper
 
MATERIAL:
Painting and finishing products: standard best or top
brands produced for each particular kind of material
required herein. These Estimates are written around
the following manufacturers;
Benjamin Moore. {Interior}
Sherwin Williams. {Exterior}
  
OFFICE:
The storage space shall be kept clean and accessible at
all times. Paint or oil soaked rags, waste, overalls,
and the like shall be removed from the premises at the
close of each day's work.
 
COMPLETION TIME: 
All work shall be completed in a timely manner weather and work Conditioned permitting.
